Here are some tips to elevate your game.
- Giant Games. Classic games such as Jenga and Yahtzee are having a rebirth as giant yard games. These super-sized versions of the classics are perfect for groups looking to have a little fun in the parking lot before kick-off. If you have enough time you can even sponsor a tournament with your tailgating neighbors!
- Maximize Your Memories. You may have been a part of a few photo booths at recent weddings, but why not bring the fun to the game? It is easy to create a portable photo booth frame with some PVC pipes and a fun backdrop. Bring along some themed props to help everyone get in the game.
- Cooking Competition. Food has long been a central part of the tailgating experience, however, burgers and brats just don’t cut it anymore. Depend on your location for a theme and have a competition focused on your local cuisine, such as a chili cookoff or a rib fest. You could stumble upon some new crowd favorites!
- Jock Jams 2.0. Creating a playlist to get everyone pumped up is key for a successful tailgate. Look for a combination of classics and new jams to keep everyone hyped. And of course make sure your team’s fight song is on the list at least once!
- Shared Spirit. If you have your regular gear and jersey ready to go every week that is great, but don’t forget about the new fans that may not have everything they need just yet. Bring along some extra face paint or an accessory or two to share with any neighbors that are in need of a little extra team spirit. This is a great way to make new friends and create more fans for the future.
