Tips for that Quick Fall Fix
Fall… It’s finally (or already?) here. The leaves are changing and the temperatures are dropping. There’s no denying that there’s just something about this season—in 2020 especially—that’s tempting to bring it within the walls of our homes. When it comes to decorating for the fall season, there are a few ways to easily incorporate that comfy, cozy feel you’re after. We put together some key factors that’ll give you that quick fall fix.
The first is textures. Fabrics like burlap, velvet, chunky knits and faux fur can easily transform your home into a cozier space in a matter of seconds. We like to incorporate these textures through pieces like blankets, oversized pillows and layered area rugs. Did you think we would forget plaid? Incorporating this classic pattern to those pieces also adds a fun touch.
When going for a comforting vibe, lighting can make a huge difference. Play around with different light sources at different heights and brightnesses; add some string lights over the fireplace mantel or place some fall-scented candles throughout the room. If possible, turn the lights down low and turn on that fireplace. This will add to that relaxing feel we crave during this season.
Next, like the changing leaves, think warm colors. Incorporating earth tones and a monochromatic palette is a great way to reflect fall vibes. Think shades of orange or tan, deep red and purple, olive green or yellow. Natural tones like these especially give a nod to the fall foliage we adore so much. If you really want to make an impression, add some copper or gold elements too. These are great additions that can break up the monotony of your monochrome look while also tying everything together.
Lastly, adding some natural elements like wood, leaves, acorns or pine cones can really add to the look and be the finishing touch you need. Try including some flower or foliage arrangements in a tinted glass vase, mason jar or metal milk jug. This is also where a few pumpkins and gourds can make their debut.
We hope these suggestions help you settle into a space that brings you all the comfy feels. Remember, if home financing is in your future we are here to help. Call us at 952-942-0110 or visit CambriaMortgage.com to begin the home loan process. Happy decorating!
